Taramana is a French-Cambodian NGO whose aim is to support <\/strong>education and improve the lives of about 200 children living in the underprivileged area of Boeing Salang, located in the north part of Phnom Penh city (Cambodia).<\/strong><\/p>\n

A LITTLE BIT OF HISTORY<\/h2>\n

Taramana, founded in 2005, is primarily a French non-profit organization under the French law of 1901 for non-profit organizations. In 2007, Taramana was recognized locally as an NGO within the Kingdom of Cambodia.<\/p>\n

Originally, Taramana’s aim was to support the education of two Cambodian orphans: \u201cTara\u201d and \u201cMana\u201d. Taramana now welcomes over 200 disadvantaged children<\/strong> in Cambodia, one of the poorest countries in South-East Asia. The organization welcomes the children daily in the medical-educational centre Taramana Magdalena located in the Boeng Salang slum<\/a> in the north of the capital.<\/p>\n

EDUCATION: OUR MAIN FOCUS <\/strong><\/h4>\n

At Taramana, we believe that education is the key to a better future. Unfortunately, many children don\u2019t have access to quality schooling, mainly for financial reasons.
\nThe main role of the organization\u00a0is to support the children\u2019s education<\/strong> in Boeng Salang by contributing to school fees. In addition to that, we also provide support classes in Khmer and foreign languages (English and French) as well as computer courses.<\/p>\n

IMPROVING THE QUALITY OF LIFE OF CHILDREN <\/strong><\/h4>\n

In conjunction with this long-term goal, it is also essential to give the children better living conditions. This is why we ensure a complete medical follow-up and offer access to a balanced diet and extracurricular activities<\/strong>.
\nSocial care is at the heart of our work and children benefit from a personalized support<\/strong>. The most disadvantaged children have access to our canteen every day and we supply rice once a month to the families in need.<\/p>\n
