{"id":6852,"date":"2019-05-14T22:40:30","date_gmt":"2019-05-14T20:40:30","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.taramana.org\/?p=6852"},"modified":"2023-12-21T15:06:11","modified_gmt":"2023-12-21T14:06:11","slug":"le-petit-prince-a-universal-tale-and-a-powerful-text","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.taramana.org\/en\/le-petit-prince-a-universal-tale-and-a-powerful-text\/","title":{"rendered":"Le Petit Prince, a universal tale"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-6821 alignright\" src=\"https:\/\/www.taramana.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/05\/IMG_20190227_112015.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"256\" height=\"341\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.taramana.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/05\/IMG_20190227_112015.jpg 2448w, https:\/\/www.taramana.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/05\/IMG_20190227_112015-225x300.jpg 225w, https:\/\/www.taramana.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/05\/IMG_20190227_112015-768x1024.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 256px) 100vw, 256px\" \/><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span class=\"tlid-translation translation\" lang=\"en\"><span title=\"\">Recently, students in the French class at Taramana studied the tale of the Little Prince.<\/span> <span class=\"\" title=\"\">They were particularly interested in <strong>chapter XXI, the meeting with the fox<\/strong>.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span class=\"tlid-translation translation\" lang=\"en\"><span title=\"\">To help the students better understand the nuances of the text, they also had the Khmer version of the book.<\/span> <span class=\"\" title=\"\">Thanks to this translation, it was easier for the students to think about and discuss the terms such as &#8220;tame&#8221;, &#8220;unique&#8221;, and &#8220;invisible&#8221;.<\/span> <span class=\"\" title=\"\">Some students even identified some gaps in the translation and proposed alternatives.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span class=\"tlid-translation translation\" lang=\"en\"><span class=\"\" title=\"\">The young people also talked a lot about the subject of friendship.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong><em><span class=\"tlid-translation translation\" lang=\"en\"><span title=\"\">&#8220;If you tame me, we will come to mean something to each other and we will need each other.\u00a0<\/span> <span title=\"\">You will be unique in the world for me.<\/span> <span title=\"\">I will be for you unique in the world &#8230; &#8220;.<\/span> <span title=\"\">&#8220;Here is my secret.<\/span> <span class=\"\" title=\"\">It&#8217;s very simple: you can only see with the heart.<\/span> <span class=\"\" title=\"\">What is essential is invisible to the eye.<\/span><span class=\"\" title=\"\">&#8221;\u00a0 <\/span><\/span><\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<h2>A TEXT TO BE HANDED DOWN TO YOUNG PEOPLE<\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span class=\"tlid-translation translation\" lang=\"en\"><span class=\"\" title=\"\">For the show held at Taramana before the Khmer New Year, each class had prepared a performance.<\/span> <span class=\"\" title=\"\">The students naturally wanted to share with their classmates the text that touched them emotionally.<\/span><\/span><br \/>\n<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span class=\"tlid-translation translation\" lang=\"en\"><span class=\"\" title=\"\">Everyone made his\/her contribution: spokespersons to play and recite the text, illustrators to make large posters with key phrases, music lovers to choose the music to accompany the show&#8230;<\/span><br \/>\n<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span class=\"tlid-translation translation\" lang=\"en\"><span class=\"\" title=\"\">It was with a lot of pride and a great job in preparing the whole show that they gave us a very enjoyable performance.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-6825\" src=\"https:\/\/www.taramana.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/05\/petit-prince-frise-et-theatre.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"1200\" height=\"316\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.taramana.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/05\/petit-prince-frise-et-theatre.png 1200w, https:\/\/www.taramana.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/05\/petit-prince-frise-et-theatre-300x79.png 300w, https:\/\/www.taramana.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/05\/petit-prince-frise-et-theatre-768x202.png 768w, https:\/\/www.taramana.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/05\/petit-prince-frise-et-theatre-1024x270.png 1024w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1200px) 100vw, 1200px\" \/><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Recently, students in the French class at Taramana studied the tale of the Little Prince.
