Dans la continuité des bonnes œuvres de la célèbre infirmière britannique Florence Nightingale, 57 filles de l’école Sainte Margaret de Londres se mobilisent en faveur des enfants du bidonville de Boeng Salang. C’est ainsi qu’elles vont participer à toute une série d’actions caritatives tout au long de l’année. L’argent collecté servira à la construction du futur Centre Taramana. Et cela commence par la semaine “antipoverty” qui aura lieu la semaine prochaine : les filles vendront des gâteaux pendant la récréation et seront habillées exceptionnellement en civil (plutôt qu’en uniforme) s’acquittant d’une “taxe” de 1 livre sterling chacune, reversée à l’association.
Il est par ailleurs prévu un échange photos/vidéos entre les enfants anglophones de Taramana et les filles de Ste Margaret sous la supervision de Rebecca Crassweller du côté anglais et d’un des professeurs d’anglais du Centre, Mr SOK Vichet.
Un concours de la meilleure vidéo en anglais réalisée par les enfants du Centre est à l’étude. Avec un arbitrage du côté londonien.
Continuing the good work of the famous British nurse Florence Nightingale, 57 pupils from St Margaret’s School in London are working to help the children of the Boeng Salang slum. They are planning a series of charitable events throughout the coming year, starting during ‘antipoverty week’ next week. The girls will be selling cakes during their break time and all of the pupils in the school will be each paying £1 to wear their own shoes for the day on October 18th, (as opposed to their school uniform shoes). The money will be donated to Taramana charity and will go towards the building of the new Taramana centre.
Furthermore, an exchange of photos and videos is scheduled between the Taramana children and the St Margaret’s pupils (under the supervision of Rebecca Crassweller (English side) and our English teachers from the centre, Mr MOEUK Try et SOK Vichet.)
A competition will be held whereby Taramana children will have the opportunity to produce a short video in English describing their day to day life – judging will be done by the St Margaret’s pupils in London.
