EDUCATION: OUR MAIN FOCUS
At Taramana, we believe that education is the key to a better future. Unfortunately, many children don’t have access to quality schooling, mainly for financial reasons.
The main role of the organization is to support the children’s education in Boeng Salang by contributing to school fees. In addition to that, we also provide support classes in Khmer and foreign languages (English and French) as well as computer courses.
IMPROVING THE QUALITY OF LIFE OF CHILDREN
In conjunction with this long-term goal, it is also essential to give the children better living conditions. This is why we ensure a complete medical follow-up and offer access to a balanced diet and extracurricular activities.
Social care is at the heart of our work and children benefit from a personalized support. The most disadvantaged children have access to our canteen every day and we supply rice once a month to the families in need.

OUR VALUES
PROXIMITY AND LOCAL ACTION
Taramana is a human-sized NGO whose action is focused on the Boeng Salang slum located in the north of the capital.
About ten Khmer employees and three to four European volunteers work at the center Taramana and share the daily life of the children at the center.
Because we work on a small scale, we can meet the individual needs of each child and his or her family.
INDEPENDENCE AND TRANSPARENCY
Taramana is an apolitical and non-religious charity. The members of the organization share the same values of respect and solidarity.
We guarantee that donations are used to improve the well-being of children and their families. Operating costs never exceed 10% of our budget. CHILDREN SAFETY AND DIGNITY
Our action is determined only by the interest of children. We make sure that the security and the dignity of the children and their families are respected, especially through the creation of an ethical charter for sponsorship.
